This afternoon we got to see the Kraken face off again (for the second time this year!) against the Blackhawks! 😍🦑💚💙

While I was super bummed that Grubi was injured literally the Friday before this game (☹️) and that the Hawks ultimately ended up snatching the W, I still couldn’t be more ecstatic! It was a high-scoring and action-packed all the way through to the very last second! And, unlike back in April, Tanev was back from his injury leave!

That now makes it 1-1 for the Kraken vs Hawks games we’ve been to…so obviously we’re obligated to attend the next game in January to break the tie, right? 😉

March 20th, 2018

So tonight the whole Donelson-Marsceau clan headed to the Hawks game! :) Mike Sr so sweetly got us all tickets for a fun family night together!

It was Peter's very first Hawks game! He did so well despite being stuck in a boring chair for three-ish hours! ;)

The coolest part about tonight was getting to see Mike's little cousin Kolten out on the ice! He won a raffle and got to skate out beside the Hawks players during the national anthem! Before the game he got to see the ice and even the locker room. So cool. :)

Madisyn also got to skate tonight! Kolten and Madisyn's hockey team was chosen for the relay race during the second period break. Their team lost by a hair, but they still did amazing! It was honestly just so surreal to see some cute kids that you actually know down there on the ice!!

Laura and Jeff came to see their grandkids skate, so we got to visit with Laura a bit! It was so nice to catch up since we haven't seen them since Christmas!

Overall, it was a really nice time with my favorite people. :)

Even though the Hawks didn’t win, they came real close and (for once) played an amazing game! I was honestly hoping for a shootout, but getting to watch OT was almost as good. 😊 I loved getting to see DeBrincat’s hat trick in person!! Also, it was really cool being at the United Center while the end of season sale was happening—we got THREE hats for $37!!!! 😱 One thing is pretty clear though: WE NEED COREY BACK ASAP! It was pretty strange not wearing my usual Crawford jersey to last night’s game, not gonna lie. 😬 (I rocked my Hjalmarsson jersey bc, let’s be honest, those were better days. 😂👌🏼) Anyways, overall it was a great game to attend and such a fun evening with my sweetheart! Thanks again to my favoritest cousin Jon for such an extremely thoughtful (and arguably the best 😉) engagement present! ❤️❤️

October 7th, 2017

Last night my dad texted me out of the blue and asked if I wanted four tickets to the hawks game today! Naturally, I said yes. ;) This evening Mike and I took Mitch and Jax downtown to the United Center. My dad's cousin Fron has season tickets in the 200 level, right behind the opponent's goal, row five. So needless to say the seats were fantastic. We were all really excited about that, plus none of us had attended any games since last year. It was the Hawks second game of the season, and after their 10-1 win the other day we had high expectations.

We were certainly not disappointed. The Hawks won 5-1! Kane was player of the game and my boy Corey had so unbelievable saves. We all left smiling and feeling victorious after that win. It was such a great night with all my favorite boys; I'm so glad we were able to go together!

The two of us got awesome United Center replicas and official game pucks! Even though the Hawks lost 0-5 to the Kings, we still (of course) had a great time. ⚫️❤️⚪️

January 10th, 2016

Seeing as Mike's birthday is on a Monday this year, we decided to do the bigger celebrating today. Of course, you know I had all kinds of surprises ready for my sweetheart!

I started the day off surprising him with a whole bunch of balloons and decorations all over the house. He just loved them. Fun fact: Michael loves balloons. :)

Lunch was a surprise, and boy, was he surprised! We dined in style at the Signature Room on the 95th Floor of the John Hancock. We got a seat right next to the window with the most beautiful view of the city. It was so gorgeous! Our food was to die for. Seriously. Best food I've ever tasted—even down to the pieces of fruit they had out at the buffet!

After our very scrumptious meal, we headed to our next destination: the United Center! Yes that's right, I also treated my wonderful man to see the Hawks game! And good thing too, because I had another surprise waiting: a personalized jersey! We both wore our jerseys and looked just so cute walking around together. We got lots of compliments. :)

Now to the game details... Man, it was such a great game. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. The Hawks crushed the Avalanche 6-2—a high scoring game! So thrilling and so awesome getting that win for his birthday!

Once the game was through, we returned back to my house for cake and presents. Mike opened his gifts from my family and we all sang him our three-part birthday song ("Happy Birthday", "May the Dear Lord Bless You..." and "Sto lat"). It was such a wonderful day. Everything went perfectly according to plan...I couldn't be any more thankful or pleased.

And best of all? Mike said it was the best birthday he'd ever had! ❤
