Happy New Year!! 🎊

For the past year my dad has boasted to everyone and anyone how the night of our engagement was one of the top five best moments in his life. Since that day, he has mentioned wanting to go back with the family for the Arboretum’s Illumination event again the following winter. About a week ago he surprised us all with tickets for New Years Day! And what a lovely night it was. 💙 We had such a great time being together and reminiscing on last year. And, of course, my dad bragged to anyone who would listen about how we had gotten engaged there last year and were now returning again as a married couple. 🥰 Ugh, I’m so thankful for that amazingly supportive man! ♥️

Happy New Year!! 🎊

Despite how this picture may look, today was actually an extremely productive day! Mike and I decided to start up P-90x again this year. This time, we vow to stick avidly to the instructed 90-day schedule, instead of just whenever we decide. While we still got through it last time, our constantly busy schedules made it hard to stick to fitting in a workout every single day. However, this year we have figured out a more consistent and reliable schedule, so we will certainly be able to finish it in the allotted 90 days! (...I hope, lol.)
In addition to our highly anticipated workout sessions with the infamous Tony Horton, I am also going to be doing my yoga much more regularly. Usually, I'm lucky if I'm able to squeeze in yoga more than two times a week. This year, I'm determined to get in at least twenty minutes of yoga each day, if not more! In addition, I want to get back into my meditation and breathing exercises. It is a great way to unwind, reflect, relax, and find inner peace. As totally corny as that sounds, meditating at least once a day always used to leave me in a constantly calm, collected, optimistic, and happy-go-lucky mood. I really want 2018 to be a year of positivity, despite whatever life may throw my way, so I think this is a great way to help that happen!
We got through our workout for the day and it felt good! Don't get me wrong, my arms are killing me—but it's a good kind of pain. :) After the main workout, we had the option to do a twenty minute session of "Ab Ripper X" in addition. Mike was beat, but I really just love the ab workout, so I forced my already tired self to give it a go. It totally kicked my butt, but I'm happy to say I did the whole thing! :) As a cool down, I did a quick yoga session and Mike even joined me! I was pretty excited about that, because he has never really been into the whole yoga and stretching thing, lol.
Overall, it was a very active and successful day! I know I might be getting ahead of myself here since it's only technically "day one", but I am very excited for the next eighty-nine days! I can't wait to see the results and am very optimistic that we will stick to our routine!

Happy New Year!! 🎊
And so it begins.
2016, especially at the end, was a crazy busy year. I felt like I was always doing something, or had some commitment, or had some place to be. Rarely did I ever feel like I had many chances to just sit down, relax, and unwind a little (but please note
that of course I did find times to relax; don't let my overly exaggerative tone fool you). Today, day one of 2017, I am so happy to say that I have absolutely NOTHING to do. Nothing! No work, no plans, no errands, no school...nothing. And
let me tell you, it feels glorious. I love lazy days. I can't get enough of them. I love having a whole afternoon to sleep in or read or watch movies all day.
But of course, I do love the hustle-and-bustle. Although being so busy and having so many plans can be very stressful and worrisome at times, it still means that I have plans. I get to go places, see people, do things...it's always so much more
exciting to be doing than to be sitting around. And, if you know me, you know that I love planning. I love organizing. Scheduling. Honesty, I'd be a fantastic personal assistant for anyone because all of your dates and events and contacts and information
would be sorted and planned and filed just perfectly. Every contact in my phone is as detailed as possible (full name, birthday, address, email, etc). My phone calendar is filled to the brim with all my daily doings...down to the minute. My wall calendar
(yeah, I have two calendars) is color-coded according to the subject matter. Now, I know what you're thinking: she's crazy. And you're probably right. But at least you know that the chances of me being late to anything are slim to none (unless other
outside forces out of my control interfere).
This new year is going to be a busy one, I can tell you that already. School starts back up at the end of the month. Three birthdays to celebrate this month alone (Michael's, mom's, & mine). A vacation at the beginning of February. Apartment
hunting. And of course my lovely two jobs that always keep me on my toes. Toss in time to see loved ones between all that... You can see how the days fill up. But, like I said, I don't mind it one bit. I love seeing people. I love staying busy. I love
going places. That's why I cram so many get-togethers and events in between everything else that's going on. Without fail, I'll always find time for any of you. ;)
But it's a relief to know that 2017 will also have some days to just do nothing and relax, too. I look forward to having a day off from the hectic thing I call my life to just sit around and catch up on my reading or my shows or do a little drawing or
whatever else. I'm happy to know that 2017 will be just as eventful and fun as 2016, but with more time to unwind and relax and recuperate in between. :)
Alright, I think I've rambled on long enough. I hope the rest of you are enjoying the start to your new year so far! We have 365 potential adventures to make—let's not waste a single one!
Here's a (completely unrelated) cute picture from today of my two favorite boys, enjoying a lazy afternoon together. :)

Happy New Year!! 🎊
As usual, Mike couldn't wait to open his gifts...and I couldn't wait to give them! I gave my darling a PS4 for our first anniversary. It's safe to say he was completely ecstatic.
