So after a bit of discussion we decided that we wouldn't be putting a third TV downstairs in the living room, since we already had a "TV area" up in the loft (plus we have the one in our bedroom). But after getting such a large, comfy couch (perfect for entertaining!) we started to reconsider. But, when it came down to it, we just couldn't justify spending the extra cash on something we really didn't need.

Literally the exact same night that we decided not to get one, Mike saw that someone in our neighborhood had put a seemingly new, unscratched, 50" TV out by the curb. He grabbed it on a whim, figuring it wouldn't hurt to see if he could get it running again. The TV honestly looked out-of-the-box brand new. It even still had the plastic stickers from when it came out of the box! But when we plugged it in, nothing happened.

Mike found the TV's motherboard on eBay for $35, so we ordered it. It arrived tonight and after a small amount of work replacing the old one, Mike successfully fixed the TV! So...now we have a brand new TV for next to nothing spent. Talk about a blessing! :)

Happy Mother's Day!! 💖

It being Mother’s Day and all, I just wanted to say: thank you, mom! Thank you for all you do for me every single day. Thank you for supporting me in everything I do. Thank you for telling me how proud you are on a daily basis. Thank you for cheering me on as I finish up school and pursue different career options. Thank you for bragging to anyone within earshot about your “homeowner daughter” and for making me feel like I’m doing this whole adulting thing right. Thank you for always supporting my relationship wholeheartedly and for basically welcoming my (soon-to-be) husband into our family with open arms from day one. Lord knows you’re going to be (& already basically are) the world’s best mother-in-law ever!

Thank you for always pushing me to chase my dreams, no matter how outlandish they may be at times. Thank you for being there to listen whenever I need you...because we both know I definitely love to complain or talk your ear off at times. 😉 Thank you for laughing through the good AND bad times with me. Thank you for making sure our home life has always been nothing but endless adventures and fun times—our family is so close and it’s all thanks to the foundation you set up! Thank for being a mentor and a best friend to the boys and I (and now to Mike, too)!

Thank you for all you’ve done, and for all I know you’ll continue to do throughout my life. You give and give and give, and then keep giving still. You dedicate all of your time to helping me, supporting me, and loving me with your whole heart and I truly will never be able you repay you for it all. I have never met a more loving, caring, compassionate, family-oriented, selfless (etc etc ETC!) mother—let alone PERSON—in my life. I love you so much mom! Never forget that! Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️❤️❤️

We picked up a table & eight chairs today! The table is just temporary—to use until Mike makes our actual one. The chairs are going to eventually be sanded and repainted to match the new table and the kitchen cabinets. It’s going to be so awesome having such a huge eating area that all of our family could easily (and very comfortably) sit at! I am so thankful for our spacious home every single day. 😊

Laura threw a surprise party today for Jeff's 60th birthday! The best part was that Jeff showed up unannounced while we were all waiting for Laura to arrive with the cake, so the surprise part didn't go exactly as planned, lol. Overall, it was such a fun time spent with family! I always enjoy hanging out with Mike's extended fam, so it was such a treat to spend 5+ hours chatting and laughing with everyone. :)

Tonight we went to the Dragon lights Festival downtown! This event was seriously the COOLEST THING EVER!! So thankful for such a lovely summer night spent with my sweetheart among the beautiful glowing lights! 🐉🏮🧡
