April 30th, 2017

Michael and I ran lots of errands today! The discount I mentioned a few posts back was still in full swing today, so I went into Kohl's to pick up some things for my family. Mom wanted new towels and washcloths, Zack wanted a new memory foam pillow, dad wanted some shirts, and Mitch wanted new jeans and shorts. After finding and purchasing it all, we dropped it off at my family's house. My mom was so thankful!

Next we headed to a different Kohl's to go pick up the Apple Watch I had put on hold. I have been wanting one for months and with this discount I walked out of the store paying only $65 for a normally $270 item. ;) I got the exact series, color, and size I wanted...needless to say I was thrilled! We also did a little bit of Mother's Day shopping while we were there. :)

After Kohl's we headed to grab Mike some new work pants. Luck was on our side again, for the pair he wanted happened to be on clearance! After the shopping was through we finally headed to grab some food. We hit up my favorite: Cracker Barrel! Dinner was divine...but what else is new? Once we were full (and man were we stuffed!) we headed home.

As we approached our building we saw a lovely little note posted on the main door. I suppose the alarm going off last night wasn't all that random after all. :P

Once we were settled in at home we decided to look for a movie to watch. Rach had tagged me in a post on Facebook for this movie called 47 Meters Down...it was about two girls trapped at the bottom of the ocean in a cage surrounded by sharks. Eeeek! I mentioned it to Mike and we decided to look up the trailer. It seemed good (and terrifying), plus it starred Mandy Moore (aka the voice of Rapunzel! :D). So that was basically a deal breaker, lol. We looked up the movie on our firestick and began to watch!

When the movie started we were a little confused, because the title screen read "In The Deep" instead of "47 Meters Down". However, the plot was the same and Mandy was in it, so we just didn't question it. The movie was actually really good. Totally frightening for me (seeing as I am absolutely terrified of sharks) and a great movie overall. Super intense and claustrophobic. And Mandy did great, of course. ;)

Rach and Char texted me a while later, asking how we were watching the movie since it wasn't out yet. Mike and I got confused, because when we had looked up the trailer it had said it had come out in 2016. We looked it up again and found out that the movie was scheduled to come out in theaters in June of 2017! We were totally confused. After looking into it some more, we found out the following:

The film was originally called "In The Deep" and was supposed to be a straight-to-DVD movie that would be released on August 2nd, 2016. About midway through July of 2016, a larger company bought the movie. They decided the film should be put into theaters (instead of just right out onto DVD) and pulled the movies from the stores. They renamed the film  "47 Meters Down" and the film is scheduled to come out in June of 2017. However, the problem with the whole process is how close to release the company decided to pull the movies. Some of the retailers kept copies of the movie and sold it. You can actually find the movie on eBay if you look. Another problem was that they released the movie to Netflix for about a week (it was supposed to be released on there about a week before the DVD's) before they pulled it down. So many people have actually already seen this film, and others actually own copies of it. So that explains why it is already on the firestick (and in such good quality!).

Rach really wants to see the movie, so she and I set up a movie date for Friday to watch it together. I am very much looking forward to it!! :)

So today was loads of fun. Not. :P

The day started off slow and lazy. We finally had a day to sleep in and catch up on those Z's, so of course we took full advantage. I had a closing shift that evening, so I headed out into the pouring rain...trying not to get totally soaked as I ran from my car into the building. On the upside, the store was next to empty so I got my department clean in no time. On the downside, the few customers that were there had me call some other stores. And I got stuck on hold. For like thirty minutes. Ugh.

I picked up a late (and unhealthy) dinner on the drive home before walking into my apartment at close to midnight. Mike had gone over to my family's house to hang out with my brothers and some friends shortly after I left for work and he had decided to stay the night there, so it was just me by my lonesome at home. I was wide awake since I had just spent the last several hours working, so I decided to watch a movie to help tire me out. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was finally up on the firestick (thanks Europe!), so I decided to watch—even despite the lousy, camcorder quality. I got about ten minutes in when suddenly the fire alarm started going off. Say what???

I grabbed my jacket and hurried outside into the cold and rain. Everyone else from the building was also gathered out front, though nobody seemed to know why the alarm was going off. We waited outside in the chilly wetness for awhile while the firemen arrived and checked the building. Eventually they told us all was clear so we headed inside. No fire, no smoke, no nothing. How annoying. :P

After I got in, I decided to forget the movie and instead took a hot shower to warm up. By the time I was done I was too exhausted to even flip the TV on. Gee, what a day. πŸ˜“

Today Michael and I went into Kohl's because I have a sizable discount at the moment. I decided to spoil my darling by letting him pick out new pairs of Levis (aka his favorite jeans ever). He was like an excited little kid looking through all the styles! It was so cute. :) I also surprised him with yet another new pair of Converse (aka his favorite shoe brand ever)! He was so thrilled. After we got home he adorably spent like five minutes setting them up in the house so he could snap a photo and post it to Instagram. What a goof...I love it. ❤

But only someone special can make you happy without doing anything at all. :)

It was such a wonderful day to go to the zoo! πŸΌπŸ’πŸ― The weather was beautiful, the animals were super active, and of course we rode the carousel! πŸŽ πŸ’ž Looking forward to heading back again in a month or so to see their Dinos & Dragons attractions! 😁

The sloth was SUPER active today! We spent probably like 30 minutes just watching him climb from vine to vine. 😊 He passed RIGHT above my head several times!

Tonight Mike and I went to see Born In China. That's right, we went to the theater to see a documentary...how classy are we? ;)

Ah, it truly is the simple things. I can honestly tell you that I had more fun in that completely empty theater with my man, being silly and watching our favorite guy from The Office narrate about Chinese mammals, than I ever could be in the most crowded theater seeing the most anticipated film. The two of us have so much fun together, no matter where we are or what we're doing. I really love that about us: our ability to make any situation a good one. I love all of our silly adventures and all the things we do together. From puzzles to going downtown to Disney to sleeping away the afternoon...I love it all.

And I always will. ❤

Since I worked all day yesterday and didn't have any time to bake, I made Jax a birthday cake today! It wasn't anything special, just something quick I whipped up. Jax asked for a dinosaur cake...so of course I couldn't say no. ;) Here's the finished product! Jax loved it and everyone in my family said it was very tasty, so I was happy. :)

I cannot believe you're fifteen...seems like just yesterday you were still just learning to walk! I am not sure if I'm ready for my baby brother to start driving yet...that means college will be right around the corner! :'( You make me proud every single day. Never give up, always follow you heart, and know that I will always be here whenever you may need me. πŸ’“

Since we didn't get to see Mike's family on Easter other than briefly at church, we headed over today for some belated festivities. :) We did a little mini egg hunt, one for Peter and one for us "big kids". Charlotte found the golden egg and Rachael found the silver egg! Michael and I also gave Peter a basket full of animals, eggs, candy, Playdough, and maybe a dinosaur or two. ;) The little guy loved the dino (as well as the other animals) and played with it all evening.

Later on we gathered in the kitchen and played a few rounds of Scattergories, which is always a great time. Rach took Peter to bed after that, so the remainder of us decided to play one more game: Clue. It was a very lovely evening and I was glad we were able to do some Easter things together. :)

Happy Easter!! 🐰

Today we woke up and gave each other our baskets! As usual, they were incredibly adorable. :) I also hide twenty eggs for Michael, all filled with cute little messages. He loved searching all over our home to find them!

We went church-hopping today. 😎 First we headed to IBC to attend mass with Mike's side of the family. Then we rushed over to St. Cyril's in Lemont to attend my church! Both masses were very beautiful. God is good.

After church we headed to a cute little park where we had a mini photoshoot in our Easter clothes. They all turned out so adorable and I already want to frame like eight of them! 😍

In the evening, my darling spoiled me with tickets to Broadway's Aladdin The Musical! πŸ’“πŸŽΆ And boy, what an AMAZING show!! Absolutely breathtaking. I definitely need to see more Disney musicals this year!
