Today, our lives changed in the biggest, most exciting way. :)

After taking SEVEN tests (just to be sure), I broke the news to Mike with a special little gift. 🥰

The sunset was even baby pink & baby blue tonight!! Could things be any more perfect?! I am still in utter disbelief. This means our IUI worked...on the first try?! 🤯 We are so, so beyond blessed. 💗

Since its been a week since my IUI, I went in to have my progesterone levels drawn today. They draw your progesterone to confirm if you ovulated, as well as to ensure your uterine lining is prepared for pregnancy.

There are several stages to your menstrual cycle. We’re currently focused on the luteral phase, which occurs after ovulation and before your period starts. During this time, the lining of your uterus gets thicker to prepare for a possible pregnancy. If your levels are too low, sometimes they’ll prescribe additional hormone support (such as progesterone) to help to better prepare the uterine lining for pregnancy.

I got my blood drawn at about 8AM, and my nurse Abby already got back to me with the results!

So, some really great news!! :) This doesn’t confirm pregnancy—they won’t know that until two weeks after the IUI, when they check to see if my progesterone and hcg levels continue to rise or decline. But this does confirm thag I ovulated, and that my uterine lining was ready for pregnancy! And that’s huge, because I was obviously never getting to that stage before. So we’re staying hopeful and optimistic. 🤞🏼
