So about two years ago at the IBC ladies tea, I was chatting with Camilla and she was happily telling me about the blanket she had been currently working on for a certain bride-to-be (it may or may not have been Paige 😊). She mentioned that she would be stocking up on yarn soon and asked what my favorite color was...seeing as she figured she might need to make a blanket for Mike and I in the near future. 😉 Today, after never mentioning it again since, I got my blanket! Not only that, it was the exact shade of green I had told her I loved over TWO YEARS ago! I was so touched by her thoughtfulness that I totally started crying as soon as I saw it. Camilla, thank you so much for this wonderfully sweet gift. It is so beautiful—the time and effort you put into making it is so evident! Mike and I are so blessed to have such thoughtful people in our lives! We will treasure this blanket always! 💚

Zack and Mikey hosted a Halloween party tonight and it was tots the bee's knees. Mike and I went as a steampunk couple and got tons of compliments on our costumes! Overall, it was a very fun night with lots of my favorite peeps!

Yesterday my kids learned about the Tower of Babel & about Joseph!
After reading the story out of the Bible, we learned about the importance of language through a fun activity. The kids had to work together to line themselves up in a particular order--first with the ability to talk to each other, and then the second without. They all agreed that it was so much harder trying to communicate without being able to speak or write, and said that it must’ve been so much easier back when everyone in the world spoke the same language! After that each of them got to make their own miniature Tower of Babel.
In our next lesson, the kids had fun coloring a picture of Joseph’s coat of many colors and answering questions on a worksheet while I read the story aloud from the Bible. It was so encouraging to watch many of them put down their markers several times to look up and intently listen to what would happen next! As class was ending and we were packing up for the day, two of my boys even came up to me to ask more questions about the story. They told me that God must’ve been very proud of Joseph for forgiving his brothers after all the bad stuff they did to him!
I pray every day that I am making a difference in these kids’ lives, and little moments like those really make me feel like I do. ☺️💕

Happy Sweetest Day!! 💘
Gembara corn maze race, year two! 🌽🗺🏃🏼♀️ Since next weekend is looking a bit busy, we did some birthday celebrations for dad this weekend. And on Sweetest Day, no less! ;) We had so much fun today navigating through an incredibly muddy maze, playing in a huge pit of corn kernels, and petting some very hungry animals. We followed up our fun fall evening by heading to a friend’s chilli cook off party for some yummy (and insanely spicy) chilli, and then with a trip to the movies to go see the newest Halloween reboot! Ugh, I love these guys so much. Thankful for such a wonderful day together! 💗

Did I ever mention that my (future) mother-in-law is the absolute best?? 😍 She so sweetly treated us to a gourmet steak dinner followed by fun at indoor glowing mini golf! Such a wonderful evening. ♥️
Also! On a scale from 1 to 10, how adorable is my future sister-in-law? About 9 & 3/4. 😎 (I’m pretty blessed that she’s also a pun-loving Slytherin. 🐍) Thank you so much for the sweet gift, Char! Love you bunches! 💚❤️💚❤️

Jess left early in the AM, so it was just me, mom, Becky, and Sue at breakfast. Sue was meeting her boyfriend Ray to stay a few more days in the city, so we dropped her off and then headed for home. While the drive up went quickly, the drive home seemed to take ages! Back at my mom's, I thanked the girls again for an amazing weekend before saying goodbye and heading for home.
I came home after a long, but fun, weekend to flowers and a clean house! 😍😍
