Happy Leap Day!! 📅 / Happy Rare Disease Day!! 💗

In addition to Leap Day, today is also National Rare Disease Day. And I am celebrating today for my hero: my little cousin Brookelyn. 💛 

Boogie has Bacterial Meningitis. While this disease is not extremely "rare", it CAN lead to many other rare diseases, like (in Boogie's case) Infantile Spasms and Hydrocephalus. We need to spread awareness, not just for these rare diseases, but for all illnesses out there. People today don't realize how serious some of the more "common" diseases can be or become for those suffering from them. All diseases need to be equally recognized and supported. 

Brookelyn has been through a lot since she was diagnosed at 4 months, but 7 years later she's still smiling and proof that even the impossible is possible.

I work at a hospital. I went to get blood drawn today. I almost fainted. I had to recover in the back room for 10 minutes. I am pathetic. 🆗💉

Happy 16th Birthday to this little man!!

Wow, I can't believe how old you boys are getting! I'm so thankful to have this goof in my life. He makes me so proud in all that he does—whether it be with his devotion and skills in baseball, his genius mind which helped him to skip a whole grade in math, or his refusal to ever let anything keep him from his goals. I love you Mitch! Happy 16th!! 🎂🎉😘

Snowboarding at Cascade Mountain today!

Well, I'd say my first time snowboarding was a complete success! Though at first it was a bit tricky, I was lucky enough to have the best teacher on the mountain. His patience and confidence in me was what motivated me to keep getting up every time I fell.

My Spring Thanksgiving treats came today! This is probably the closest the two of us have ever gotten to having the treats arrive on the right day, lol (yesterday was Spring Thanksgiving). My cookies were delicious as usual! Always so thankful for this holiday and my lifelong friendship with Angie. ☺️💙💜

Happy Valentine's Day!! ❤️

Michael surprised me with beautiful roses (my favorite!) and an adorable balloon. We got dressed up all cute before heading to the surprise dinner...which turned out to be 10 minutes from my house at La Dolce Vita!

The restaurant was so cute. And the food... Mmmm. I ordered this stuffed shrimp and pasta dish that was just absolutely scrumptious.



After dinner we headed back to Mike's neck of the woods, where we bundled up and went skating! The Donelson's have a pond behind their house that they've always skated on in the winter, and this was my first time getting to try! It was so much fun skating out there. Although the ice was a bit bumpy, it was so nice having a whole rink just to ourselves! We twirled and skated all around for a long while before calling it quits.

It truly was a very special, romantic evening. :)

Mike took me to see Tangled IN THEATERS. Seeing as I missed out the first time around the movie came out. 😅 (Some diehard fan I am, right?) Anyways...it was extremely magical and I was easily more excited than every little girl in there. ☺️🏮✨ We even dressed up again, which all the little kids in the theater thought was the coolest thing ever.

Rachael and I went to a book signing at Anderson's Bookshop for one of our new favorite author's: Victoria Aveyard! She wrote Red Queen, which we both just loved, and today we were able to pick up our signed copies of Glass Sword! It was so cool to get to hear her discuss her book, the writing process, and so many other aspects you normally wouldn't get insight to. I'm so grateful Rach invited me and I can't wait to start reading book 2!

Today's finally the day!!!!

Disney On Ice: 100 Years Of Magic! What started out as a joke turned into reality: we dressed up! I went as Rapunzel, naturally. ;) And of course my Michael was my Flynn Rider. And Charlotte? Well, she of course went as Pascal! :D Yes, we really did it. And yes, it was so much fun! Everyone there absolutely adored our costumes! The three of us seriously had such a fantastic time together. The show was amazing. We shared in tons of laughs and jokes. I always have such a wonderful time with these two and today was no exception.
