July 1st, 2017

My dad texted me and Mike out of the blue this afternoon and asked us if we wanted to go to Lisle Fest later that evening. We had nothing going on and it sounded fun, so we agreed! We met up with my dad and three brothers around 5:30PM and headed to the fest. We used to go to Lisle's Eyes To The Skies festival every year when I was little, since my late Uncle Joe used to get us free admission and other passes due to his business. Since he passed we haven't gone, so I was excited to be going back!

It was a really lovely time. I was super happy for the quality time with all my brothers—I feel like we rarely get time with all four of us now that Zack and I aren't at home. My dad enjoyed the family time too! We all had fun browsing the craft tables and sampling different snacks and smoothies...minus Mike nearly killing himself after he decided to drink some pure carrot juice. I found a super cute wool sweater, Mike bought an awesome bald eagle candle (for $5!), and I found a guitar-string-bracelet for Charlotte.

Later on we headed over to the carnival section. We saw this insane ride called The Zipper...and of course my crazy father insisted we ride. Everyone ended up going on, even despite how nuts the ride looked. The ride was everything I expected it to be...and more. It flipped us around like fifty times and made me completely dizzy. I literally screamed the entire time. 😱

As we all stumbled off (vowing never to ride that deathtrap again), we noticed the fireworks were starting! We ended up just sitting on the curb near the ride, but it turned out to be a great spot to see the display!

It was such a fantastic day. I was so thankful to my dad for the impromptu invitation—it caused for a lovely family outing in celebration of the approaching fourth. :)
