We finally finished our Beauty and the Beast puzzle! It had sat on our coffee table in the living room for probably about a month. It was very rewarding to finally get it done—both because we completed it and also because we could finally
use our table again, lol.

Happy Memorial Day!! 🇺🇸
Today we went to the Field Museum to see the newest Jurassic World exhibit! I was so excited and had been dying to go since I heard about it! We had fun looking around the museum for a bit before it was finally time to go in!
It was like nothing I ever could've expected. The animatronic dinosaurs were HUGE and so realistic! I was absolutely in heaven and could've spent HOURS there. We had such a fun time looking at everything and taking tons of photos!
After we were all dino'd out, we headed to the Donelson's house for a Memorial Day BBQ! The food was super tasty! After we ate, we played some backyard games as a family. :)

The beautiful weather only seemed to get better as the weekend continued. :) We enjoyed the morning before heading over to my family's house to hang out. I let the pups out and played fetch while Mike and Mitch played an intense game of basketball. Everybody was in such high spirits because of the sunny weather!
As it got later, we all loaded up into the car and headed to Lisle. Mike and I had organized to do an escape room today with Mitch, Jax, and my parents. Our room was called "The Gallery" and was filled with replicas of famous paintings. They explained the rules and set our time for an hour and we began! It was so intense and sometimes a bit tricky, but mainly it was just lots of fun. Unfortuntly, we didn't make it out in the hour. :( We pushed out of the room literally three minutes past. So, really close and a great effort by our group! Everyone had a really nice time and was thankful that we'd organized the family night.
We hung out at the house awhile longer before heading out. On a whim we heard about this fireworks display that was set to happen in Romeoville, so we decided to go check it out. We arrived at the Mistwood Golf Club and found ourselves a nice spot to wait. The fireworks show ended being so much better than I'd imagined it would be! For a small little fest with not the largest crowd, I expected a wimpy display. But it was outstanding! The finale completely wow'd us. It was definitely a good idea to attend!
Today was fantastic. Lots of family time, lots of time outside, and lots of fun. I'm so thankful for the opportunities to do fun activities and spend time with my loved ones. :)

The weather was so gorgeous today! After work was done for the both of us we decided that we just had to take advantage of the day. We headed to Wilderness Falls in Bolingbrook for some mini golf. We played both courses and I won both times! :D That was a change, since usually I always manage to mess up one hole big time and thus lose the game by a few points. But not today! I was on my A-game the whole time and ended up getting five hole-in-one's total. :)

I'm happy to announce that I was well enough to head back to work today! :) Thankfully I had a short shift, because I was certainly worn out by the end of it. After Mike got off we headed to my family's house to do some laundry and see the family. As always, it was so lovely to see our adorable doggies! I miss them so much each day. It really is a big change to live in a dog-free household now. :(

Today started off not so good. I woke up feeling nauseous and dizzy. :( It quickly became apparent that I wasn't going in to work. Mike stopped home on his lunch to check up on me and give me some medicine. He bought me these sweatband things that put pressure on a point in your wrists to help with the nausea. I was skeptical, but after about twenty minutes wearing them I realized they were working! My dizziness faded so I was finally able to get out of bed and move around a little. The day was uneventful—lots of sleeping and resting, mixed with some TV watching and reading. Thankfully my lovely guy came home and took care of me. He's such a sweetheart; I am so very lucky.

Today I got out of work a little earlier than usual and actually had time to make a more elaborate meal! I headed to the store for ingredients before rushing back home to get to cooking. I ended up making Chicken Spinach Bacon Alfredo and boy did it turn out good! I also made a Pizza Puff Pastry Twist and some rolls. When Mike got home he was so surprised and thankful to see such a spread of food! He really loved all of it too, so I was very happy. :)
After dinner we headed to Dairy Queen for some dessert. That was Mike's treat, since I handled dinner. ;)

As mentioned previously, my Grama's 30+ year old rocker needed repairs so Mike volunteered to take care of it! The seat had all but caved in, so my lovely guy removed it and made a new one. He added a new support, plus a lovely maroon cushion. We brought the seat back today and he screwed in her new seat—she loved it! She couldn't believe he was able to save the rocker, let alone make it look so beautiful! I was so glad we were able to help her out. She said it was the perfect Mother's Day gift. :)

Such a wonderful day!! 😄 Our plans to go to the zoo were cancelled due to the rain, but we came up with a Plan B and instead headed to the Museum of Science and Industry! 🔬🔠It was a bunch of fun and overall a lovely time had with the whole family! ❤️
