Seeing as Mike's birthday is on a Monday this year, we decided to do the bigger celebrating today. Of course, you know I had all kinds of surprises ready for my sweetheart!
I started the day off surprising him with a whole bunch of balloons and decorations all over the house. He just loved them. Fun fact: Michael loves balloons. :)
Lunch was a surprise, and boy, was he surprised! We dined in style at the Signature Room on the 95th Floor of the John Hancock. We got a seat right next to the window with the most beautiful view of the city. It was so gorgeous! Our food was
to die for. Seriously. Best food I've ever tasted—even down to the pieces of fruit they had out at the buffet!
After our very scrumptious meal, we headed to our next destination: the United Center! Yes that's right, I also treated my wonderful man to see the Hawks game! And good thing too, because I had another surprise waiting: a personalized jersey!
We both wore our jerseys and looked just so cute walking around together. We got lots of compliments. :)
Now to the game details... Man, it was such a great game. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. The Hawks crushed the Avalanche 6-2—a high scoring game! So thrilling and so awesome getting that win for his birthday!
Once the game was through, we returned back to my house for cake and presents. Mike opened his gifts from my family and we all sang him our three-part birthday song ("Happy Birthday", "May the Dear Lord Bless You..." and "Sto lat"). It was such a wonderful day. Everything went perfectly according to plan...I couldn't
be any more thankful or pleased.
And best of all? Mike said it was the best birthday he'd ever had! ❤
